This collection contains public messages to the Rutgers University-Newark community in the form of announcements, speeches, opinion pieces, and remarks made in public media appearances.
These public messages reflect Chancellor Cantor’s vision of a Rutgers-Newark community which extends beyond physical campus boundaries: a vision of collaborative, publicly engaged scholarship and programs with Newark residents, organizations, businesses and institutions.
Doctor Nancy Cantor served as the Chancellor of Rutgers University-Newark from 2015 to 2024. The impact of her myriad of initiatives and accomplishments continue to be seen and felt on the Rutgers Newark campus. To name a just few of her accomplishments, Cantor’s administration oversaw the establishment of the P3 Collaboratory for Pedagogy, Professional Development, and Publicly-Engaged Scholarship; the Honors Living and Learning Community in support and development of undergraduate scholars; Express Newark for academic programs and community collaborations in the visual arts; live jazz venue Clement’s Place; and the establishment of RU-Newark Archives in John Cotton Dana Library.
